This will be Jan Bárta’s third season competing for Team NetApp. He is one of the riders who have developed considerably as part of Team NetApp. He proved his qualities as a time-trial specialist most recently by winning his second silver medal in a row at the Czech Championships, as well as placing second in the Tour de l’Ain’s prologue. Consequently, Jan is also a good general classification rider at moderately difficult tours, as demonstrated by his third-place finish overall at the Tour of Britain. As an aggressive rider, he feels comfortable being a part of breakaway groups and distinguished himself in that way during a stage of the Tour de Suisse, among others.

Cesare Benedetti is an all-round rider with special qualities on short climbs, which brought him some successes back in 2009: For three days, Cesare was the overall leader at the Baby Giro and claimed two second-place finishes at the Trofeo Piva and the Giro della Val d’Aosta. Most recently, he managed to claim third place during a stage at the Tour of Britain, and he proved his attacking style during a stage at the Tour de Suisse, which won him the distinction of “Most aggressive rider”. He has been one of the most loyal riders for Team NetApp since the very beginning and can be counted on in any situation.

Routinier Markus Eichler has transferred to Team NetApp for next season. He has already competed in all major classics and the important one-day races, and he has four years of experience on the ProTour. The young riders on the team will benefit from this in particular. His greatest successes include winning the Ronde von Drenthe in 2006 and the Batavus Prorace in 2010. Markus will assume a leading role on the team, especially at the Belgian races.

Bartosz Huzarski is a specialist in hilly terrain and time trials. This will be his second year riding for Team NetApp. 2010 was Bartosz’s most successful season thus far. He managed to win a stage at both the Settimana Internazionale and the Settimana Ciclista Lombarda. He also won the team time trial at the Brixia Tour while still riding for Team ISD Neri. In his first season with Team NetApp, Bartosz managed to draw attention to himself at the Tour of Turkey in particular, where he won a spot on the podium twice, wore the leader’s jersey for one day and placed sixth overall. Another good result was his seventh-place overall finish at the Tour de Pologne. Team NetApp’s young riders in particular will benefit from his experience.

In 2011, Blaz Jarc rode a couple of weeks for Team NetApp as a stagiaire. His performance convinced us that he was ready for a professional contract. He’s an all-round rider with sprinting and time-trial qualities. The 2009 national champion managed to win the Porec Trophy last year, and he also gained recognition by claiming eight more top-ten finishes.

This is Leopold König’s second year riding for Team NetApp. He is another rider who has been able to develop enormously with Team NetApp’s racing program. The current Czech Vice Champion is strong in the mountains and during time trials. He demonstrated that in impressive style in 2010 with victory in the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt. Last year, Leopold was Team NetApp’s most successful rider. He also gave the team its biggest win by taking second place overall at the Österreich Rundfahrt. It was his top win thus far, and he was the best up-and-coming rider there. In addition, he placed third overall at the Tour de l’Ain and fifth overall at the Tour of Britain, and he also claimed a podium spot for a stage in Great Britain.

The 2012 season will be all-rounder Andreas Schillinger’s third season riding for Team NetApp. Hilly terrain and demanding races suit him especially well. The native Bavarian has already provided the team with some noteworthy results, including his bronze medal at the 2010 German Championships and his win at Praha-Karlovy Vary-Praha. Andreas is one of the most reliable riders, helping the team to achieve quite a few successes with his work as a support rider.

Very promising young sprinter Daniel Schorn has been a part of Team NetApp since the team’s founding. During his first season he achieved three wins for the team: He won two stages at the Tour de Slovaquie and one stage at the Tour de Normandie, thereby showing that he could deliver some surprises even on difficult terrain, in addition to his qualities as a sprinter. Daniel’s 2011 season started out on a promising note when he placed third at the Tour de Rijke. However, a crash at the Österreich Rundfahrt resulted in a long break due to injury.

Michael Schwarzmann found his way as an up-and-coming rider on the Quest-Ralph-Denk-Team to Team NetApp. 2012 will be his third season with the team.During his development as a sprint specialist, he demonstrated his ability back in 2009 by winning the final stage at the Regio-Tour and taking fourth place overall in the national junior cycling league. Last year, Michael had to take a long injury break due to a crash at the Mallorca Challenge, among other things.

Paul or Vossi as everyone calls him, has already well-established as a rider. He is a true all-rounder - capable of succeeding in any cycling discipline - classics, tours and one-day races. He can be a good domestique for his team as well as going for victories himself. Vossi was discovered as a U23 talent in Germany and then made his way to the first league Team Milram. He rode there for two years winning the prologue of the WorldTour race Vuelta Catalunya and wearing the Giro d’Italia mountain leader jersey for four stages. After Team Milram closed down he found a new home at Endura Racing where he raced two years. Now he returns to the highest level of racing with more self-confidence and experience to achieve great results.

Alex’s specialty is the individual time trial. As a stagiaire at Cervelo Test Team, his career temporarily stalled when the team closed down within the same season. Luckily, he joined Endura Racing and in the last three years he proved his talent with many Top Ten finishes. Now he finally gets his well deserved chance to step up to a higher level of racing. In 2012 he logged the most kilometers in breakaway groups of all the Team Endura riders. This makes him another perfect fit for Team NetApp - Endura. Alex is Swedish so his nickname at Endura Racing was IKEA.

Erick, aka Ricky, shows maturity and experience beyond his 22 years. He raced many years with the British National team where he learned the craft of the professional cyclist. In 2012 he showed great potential by winning a stage at the Tour de Normandie, as well as two second place finishes. Erick has proven not only that he can win races on his own, but also that he can be counted on for great support for the other riders. He shows good sense and acumen in summing up a race situation. His calm and relaxed personality makes him popular with all his teammates.

The first thing to say about Russell is, he is a fighter who never gives up while the race is on. Before Team Endura Racing he was with team Sky for two years, where his wins included the second stage of the Critèrium International as well as the Tour de Wallonie overall. He is a fast finisher who can also put in a great day’s climbing. You’ll always find Russell first in line – not only at the races but also in his daily life. He pushes his teammates and is always hustling himself and the other riders. The team will count on Russell’s mentorship for the younger riders – for technical race tactics and also for building their mental toughness.

The 2012 season with Endura Racing was important for his development as an international pro, and with Team NetApp – Endura he will get the chance to continue to improve and achieve at the next level. Johnny is a fast finisher who typically wins sprints out of smaller groups. He likes hilly terrain and heads for the breakaway groups, so he is a perfect fit for the classics group of Team NetApp – Endura. With a constant smile on his face he will always be a positive presence in the team.

Like many Australian riders, Zak has a background in track racing. He is an all-rounder who can be relied on for many different tasks. He can lead out the sprinters or sprint himself from small groups. The classic races really suit his racing style, so he is a great fit for Team NetApp - Endura as they continue their efforts here. At only 24 years old, he already shows the maturity of a leader when racing. Next season with Team NetApp – Endura he will ride in the classic rider division, as one of the pace makers for the sprinters.

Ralf is one of six German riders on the team and will bolster us in the sprints. We have a very strong team in place for next year that will be able to set the pace on the approach to stage finishes and set our sprinters up for wins in the bunch sprints. Ralf showed his explosive qualities as an U23 rider, and this year he made our life difficult during a couple of stages. He has therefore earned the chance to prove his talent with the pros. While Ralf is still quite young, he is definitely very ambitious. With Russell, Johnny and Ralf we have strengthened our capabilities considerably in one-day race sprints.

With José we add another experienced all-rounder to the team who can deliver good results but who will primarily support the team. This year we often had to accept that when it came to difficult mountain stages, Leopold König could ride in a good position, but he often had to fend for himself. We will count on José to lend support to Leo and to ride by his side in exactly these situations.

David actually has a nice story to tell. From a humble background, he supported himself with various temporary jobs, ending up at a bike store. He loved bikes and saved up to buy himself a mountain bike. One day his bosses saw him riding his bike and realized David had real talent. They got David a race bike, put him in a bike club, trained him and got him a team. That’s only four years ago. His first team was Caja Rural in the ProContinental division. Since then he has been tagged as a hot new talent in Spain. David proved himself as a climber with third overall at the Vuelta Castilla y Leon. He also specializes in time trials, and has received a solid education as a track race rider. Climbing and Time Trials are the perfect combination for one day becoming a great cyclist. While he has a lot to learn in terms of tactics and technique, he has shown tremendous ability in the first four years of his cycling career and we have high hopes for him. David will be strengthening our tour rider group, centered around Leopold König.

Roger was the final signing with Team NetApp - Endura. He began his career on the track. He is a World Cup winner, two-times European Champion, several times German Champion and Olympic Silver medalist in Beijing. At the 2012 London Games, he came fourth in the Men's Omnium competition. He turned professional road racer three years ago, and rode with Team Milram and then with Skil-Shimano/Argos-Shimano. His biggest successes to date are his fourth place in the overall ranking in the Tour of Qatar and his victory in the Neuseen Classics (both in 2010). Kluge also entered the Tour de France in 2010 but had to withdraw in the first week following a hand injury.

He will strengthen the sprinter division in Team NetApp - Endura but will also get his chance to go for his own results. Being a fast finisher he perfectly complements Team NetApp - Endura's sprinters.
